Not to fret, family and friends, you did not miss Ava's birthday; it isn't until August. Our sweet darling Ava Elizabeth just so happens to have a friend (whose father works with Ryan) named Ava Elizabeth. Seriously. Ryan and Logan (the dads) did not work together until AFTER both girls were born; the names are pure coincidence (and possibly punishment for me thinking that we were choosing an old fashioned, uncommon name for our child). For the sake of this story, our daughter is "Ava1" and the birthday girl is "Ava2".
Props to Gymboree for hosting a fun, energetic birthday party. The kids all had a blast. I felt bad for Ava1, though. Every time the leader asked the birthday girl (Ava2) a question, Ava1 would answer.
Example 1:
Leader to children: "Ava, what song would you like to sing for your birthday?"
Ava2 (before anyone else can speak): "TWINKLE, TWINKLE!!!"
Example 2:
Leader to Ava2: "Would you like to lead your friends in a birthday parade?"
Ava1 (while running at high speed toward Leader): "YEA!"
It's just cruel for us to have even taken her. And when the cake came out... poor baby. We'll make up for it on her birthday!
